GOTS

The Global Organic Textile Standard has been recognized as the primary standard worldwide – for the processing of textiles from biologically generated natural fibres.

GOTS is marked by a high level of environmental requirements, in terms of the entire textile production chain. The same holds for the social criteria that have to be met. The standard covers all steps, from the extraction of textile raw fibres to environmentally acceptable and socially responsible manufacturing up to the labelling and the distribution and sale of products.

ADDITIONS BIODEGRADABLE

All chemical additions (e.g. dyes, chemical agents, special chemicals) have to be examined before use. They have to meet the basic requirements in terms of toxicity and biodegradability.

NO HEAVY METALS

It is prohibited to use additional substances, e.g. heavy metals, formaldehyde, aromatic solvents or genetically altered organisms (GVO) and their enzymes.

ECOLOGICAL PRINTING PROCEDURES

Corrosive printing procedures containing aromatic solvents and plastisol printing using phthalates and PVC are not allowed.

ECOFRIENDLY PACKAGING

The packacking must not include PVC. All packacking consisting of paper and cardboard, hanging tags, banderoles, etc. have to be either certified by FSC or PEFC or have to come from recycling.
